Footbridge of the Seguin island (France)
A new footbridge with a single 100m span is constructed as part of a large development project on the Seguin island (Paris, river Seine) at the location of the old Renault plots.
As for all modern footbridges a verification of the human induced vibrations and the risk assessment for discomfort (insecurity feeling) which may be provoked is requested.
The footbridge is a steel structure made by two lateral box girders linked together by transversal steel beams supporting a steel orthotropic deck. CCS’s design office has been assigned by the fabricator EIFFAGE MÉTAL to proceed with the dynamic verification of the structural vibrations and the adequacy of the specific equipment (tuned mass dampers) to palliate the excess and to respect the normative criteria of acceptance. A full finite element model has been used to achieve this goal.
