This document will present one method of using the INSTANT steel application suite to perform analysis and design of a typical steel structure. The method presented here is not the only available and the user is encouraged to experiment with the various tools and utilities in order to develop a mode of operation that best suits his/her needs.
Note: This example is intended as a presentation of the program usage, so the model data and design decisions detailed below should not be used as a reference for an actual steel structure study. The engineer should exercise his/her judgment and experience and consult existing publications as the best usage of regulations and design practices pertinent to the design of the target structure.
Below, follows a brief presentation of the different set of applications that are taking place in INSTANT steel and a brief description of the basic commands in the Input Data and Analysis menu in INSTANT – Linear 3D.
